对于一个使用人声作为主要表现工具的乐队来说，当它拥有一个伟大的主唱的时候，那他们从一开始就成功了一半。不是么？至少对 The Czars 来说，他们是的。John Grant 独一无二磁性十足的声音就是大杀四方的神器，它是如此特殊而迷人，以至于在很多歌迷眼里 John Grant 简直就是 The Czars 的一切。

乐队发行 Sorry I Made You Cry 这张唱片是在乐队2004年宣告解散的两年后，2006年。内容基本是乐队数年间不同时期录制的一些翻唱曲目，首首精致，原本却零零散散左一首右一首地洒落于世，于是这会儿干脆集中起来赚他个满堂喝彩。毫无疑问的是，所有翻唱的曲目均烙下了 John Grant 的个人风格印记。其中翻唱70年代瑞典著名流行乐队ABBA的这首 Angel Eyes ，以清汤挂面式的歌曲编排，仅凭简单的木吉他伴奏搭配 Grant 的主音和和声，原本喧哗热闹的一首流行歌曲便摇身一变，简单质朴却更加娓娓动人。

好玩的是，ABBA女声主唱口中唱出的歌词，说的是某女子某日路遇前男友和其新女友后引发的感受。换到 John Grant 这边，以男性歌手的身份，却故意将新女友的角色唱成另一男性人称。口误？还是有意搞怪唱成男风题材？倒是真令人啼笑皆非。
