整整一个多月的时间，每晚睡觉时，我都要打开随身听，听着Coil的专辑入睡。在这些无法早睡却不得不早睡的夜晚，是Peter Christorpherson和 John Balance这两个阴郁又诡异的家伙，在我耳边讲述着一个个黑色的寓言和童话，听得我一阵阵心悸，一遍遍眩晕，然后在这样一次次的自虐中沉沉睡去……

如何去界定Coil的美学风格？这是一个十分困难、也没多大必要的问题。他们的音乐，吸取了工业、氛围、电子、实验、民谣、民族等多种元素，令人耳花缭乱。但是如果从文学和电影的角度去看，也许更能触碰到其作品的本质。他们是萨德侯爵的信徒，是帕索里尼和贾曼的革命伴侣，可以用“极端压抑的疯狂”作为他们共同的前置定语。后工业时代扭曲而痛苦的灵魂，附着在这对英国基佬的身上，结出了令人着迷的奇异果实。

《The Ape of Naples》也许是我听过的三十多张Coil专辑中，最具旋律流行性的的一张了。它的悲伤过于直白，直白得跨越了文化的隔阂，那种人类最为细腻的伤感之情，带着极大的穿透力走来，在黑夜中闪闪烁烁，鬼火一般吸引着你堕入无边的黑暗中。在这张专辑创作过程中，John Balance意外身亡，失去基友的Peter完成了最后的制作。因此故，这首《Tattooed Man》听起来，才会有一种极强的感染力。手风琴单调而优美地循环着，打击乐失魂落魄地敲击着，一个男人的尸体，躺在等待埋葬的坟墓里，身上的纹身也因为死亡了逐渐暗淡和萎缩。这时，刚刚哭泣过的男声一遍遍地唱起：我爱他我爱他我爱他，我恨他我恨他我恨他……生者与死者的对话，其实也不过如此简单。

网上有一段《Tattooed Man》的Live视频，俨然是一场神秘宗教的降神仪式。难怪很多人一听到此歌，就会联想到寺山修司的《上海异人娼馆》，里面千奇百怪的虐恋场景，把性的暴力与美表达得淋漓尽致。在异色导演的镜头下，倒也像极了异教徒的狂欢。“在时间的长桌上/上帝的饮者狂欢/他干了视觉健全者的眼睛和盲人的眼睛/他干了阴影统治者的心肝/他干了黄昏和空洞的面颊/他们是最豪迈的酒徒/他们饮尽了满饮尽了空/而从不会像你我一样泡沫四溅。”保罗•策兰的这几句诗，是否能作为这种大欢喜和大悲伤的注脚呢？

但我现在，越来越难以把死亡与狂欢联系到一起。我更倾向于静静地消逝，像一滴水融入海洋，成为再也无法寻觅的东西。
