大音希声，大象无形，一定要花红柳绿纷繁复杂才能表现好什么？Rivulets的Nathan Amundson显然不吃这套。在他的音乐世界里，一切从简，一片荒芜。然而清风暗许离别时，飞花落叶皆伤人，黯然销魂只在高手撩拨之间萦绕，寂寞冷清之时，歇斯底里哭天抢地则已是俗套。而俗套，需要么？坚决不需要。

2002年乐队发行的首张同名专辑《Rivulets》里，各种辛酸忧郁纠结其中却自有一番引人入胜的景象。Nathan Amundson敏感而脆弱的嗓音一贯是摧枯拉朽的利器，种种悲情娓娓道来，亦幻亦真令人难以抗拒。在这首Four Weeks（四星期）中，满是一个为爱心碎将死之人的喃喃自语：“嗨医生，给根烟吧，我就要死了，你就让我这么离开… 她说我对这个世界充满绝望，我回答，是你让我对这个世界充满绝望… 四星期就是一个月，十二个月又是一年，你还要让我等待多久？” 絮叨和绝望，重复再重复，歌词冗长沉重，铃声轻轻勾勒出的华彩是唯一的轻盈悦耳然而仅供喘息。全曲宛如六分多钟的一部低成本色调阴暗的纪录片，却总会有人被其中某些东西吸引，对号入座翻滚情绪，然后鼓掌离开。用简简单单的元素来放大情感，Nathan Amundson确实做到了很不一般的效果。
